Qualified Individuals will handle the installation of fire protection systems for commercial and individual projects

  • Installation of overhead wet-pipe fire sprinkler system
  • Reporting and reading plans
  • Installation of dry-pipe and pre-action systems installation of underground fire lines and all related apparatuses
  • Run new projects and complete system on time and correctly
  • Installation of new system, retro-fits, tenant improvements and residential dwellings
  • Knowledgeable of NFPA 13, 13R, 13D, 14, 20, & 25
  • Knowledgeable in the installation of Steel pipe, CPVC, C-900 & ductile iron piping
  • Knowledge and understanding of how to read architectural and fire sprinkler plans
  • At least 5-10 years’ experience in the fire sprinklers
  • Oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated work ethic
  • Ability to solve problems using NFPA code
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record (print out required)
  • Knowledge of alarm systems
  • Hand tools for the fire sprinkler work
  • Ability to verify system function by testing equipment, connections and signals
  • Identify and correct any problem
  • Maintain records by documenting installations
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment by following OSHA and Fire Safety First’s code of safe practices
  • Education: High School or equivalent
  • Experience: 5 to 10 Years

Fire Protection Service Project Manager/Designer

The Project Manager/Designer holds overall responsibility for all aspects of fire protection construction projects from conception through systems functioning as intended as well as will design and coordinate fire sprinkler system for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. Will oversee or conduct scheduling, planning, actual construction, expediting, inspection, quality control, and total delivery of the project according to established criteria. Is responsible for the initial planning of a project, tracking, forecasting, and communicating all costs, profits, and financial measure of the project. Through coordination with the site superintendent, the PM will organize and manage all the elements involved in construction-labor, temporary and permanent materials, equipment, supplies, utilities, and time.

  • Review construction contract documents and coordinate with Subcontractors and General Contractor/Owner to gather the required information to design the projects sprinkler systems.
  • Through use of analytical thinking and problem solving, determine construction feasibility and systems possibilities.
  • Create detailed drawings through extensive use of AutoCAD
  • Create stock list for all material required throughout the project
  • Perform hydraulic calculation
  • Coordinates pipe and sprinkler locations with building components
  • Performs field surveys
  • Attends project specific meetings
  • Details ship drawing for installation
  • Develop initial schedules for preliminary project work
  • Maintain design historical records and historical records for all functions for future use
  • Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure company is meeting customers’ expectations
  • Coordinate with other departments within office to ensure proper handover of job information
  • Conduct long range project planning and scheduling
  • Monitor and manage project to comply with safety, quality, productivity and profitability requirements
  • Directly manage field labor force of assigned project to assure maximum productivity
  • Track employee hours and crew mix rates for each project
  • Ensure proper staffing is in place on each project
  • Identify changes in projects that impact cost, schedule or labor requirements
  • Make sure change orders/change estimates are completed in a timely manner
  • Monitor project billings for accuracy and maintenance of a positive cash flow
  • Continually monitor progress of projects; review reports to ensure compliance with schedule and budgetary guidelines
  • Assist/lead during field check stage of the project
  • Forecast future manpower requirements
  • Oversee work of Subcontractors
  • Ensure work complies with codes and permits
  • Administer construction contracts; approve work quality and payment requests
  • Demonstrated ability with AutoCAD
  • Proven ability and track record of performing work in a timely manner and meeting deadlines
  • Ten years’ successful construction industry experience with knowledge of Fire Protection Industry
  • Supervisory experience is preferred
  • Ability to coordinate and work well with others
  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Willing to regularly travel overnight
  • Willing to pass a pre-employment drug screen test, background and reference check
